Flynn Suburb Record Smashed After Luxurious Home Sells $211k Above Price Guide

A brand-new home completely decked out with the latest contemporary features has smashed the Flynn suburb record of $1.305 million previously held by 22 Love Street in Flynn.

The five-bedroom residence at 7 Spalding Street in Flynn sold for $1.561 million at a memorable auction this morning.

“This new record for Flynn concretes the fact that the Belconnen area is a desirable place to live with high calibre of homes that is such a great drawcard for families”, said selling agent Jason Anasson of McGrath North Canberra.

Crowds flocked to see who would be the lucky buyer that could call this luxurious home with an original $1.35 million price guide their own.

Five registered bidders took part in the auction with increments starting off at $100,000, then narrowing down into $50,000, then $25,000, before settling on the final price of $1.561 million.

Competition was ready from get-go, with a family from Belconnen making strong bids and knocking off another interested buyer from Sydney along the way to successfully score the expansive family residence.

According to Mr Anasson, the new owners were with him from the start of the campaign.

“They are a lovely family looking to upsize and now their dream has come true”, he said.

“They love the fact that it is open-plan living, there is seamless transition from inside to outside, there are views looking out across the Brindabella’s…and the overall expansive space.”

Inspired by the builder’s expertise on design, the home attracted over 84 groups throughout the campaign, with interest sparked particularly by locals who were eager to check out the knock-down re-build transformation.
