Swinger Hill, an experimental prototype to test medium density design principles, was a demonstration project for private developers commissioned by NCDC, to inspire innovative design solutions for Canberra development.

Modern, appealing, and an excellent example of the Sydney regional style of architecture, the Barnet Close houses form a consistent group, unified by the careful selection of materials, colours, detailing and landscaping. Designed to integrate the outdoors with the indoors, the garden courts were paved in brick and on the same level as the living room floors to avoid the sense of division created by a change in level. Continuity of these design elements are retained and remain as relevant today as they were in their inception.

5 Barnet Close is an exceptional example of the atrium house, a single level, home with three courtyards: one at either end and an atrium court in the centre-living rooms look out to the atrium court, giving effortless connection to the outdoors, an integral component of the homes design.

Breezeway bricks gives a glimpse into the modernist home that is beyond the private front garden. Large panes of glass allow for solar access along the full length of the north wall. Two bedrooms, a large new bathroom, modern kitchen and uncomplicated aesthetic allows you to fully immerse yourself in a space that inspires easy day to day living.
