The southernmost town centre of Canberra, Tuggeranong has more than 85,000 residents. It’s home to many of Canberra’s more established areas, including Canberra’s biggest suburb of Kambah, and historic homes like Lanyon Homestead and Rose Cottage. But the town centre is also enjoying a renaissance. Hugging Lake Tuggeranong are plenty of brand new apartment buildings with water views, and the town centre boasts a range of new cafes and eateries around major shopping hub South.Point, which also houses the much-loved Limelight Cinemas. Tuggeranong also has a big sporting scene, with a skate park, playing fields, Southern Cross Stadium which hosts basketball and roller derby, and a paraglider or two. The gateway to the Brindabellas, the area is also flush with mountain views and leafy surrounds with easy access to the stunning natural swimming spots at Pine Island and Point Hut Crossing.
