Longing for the Alpine life? Check out these short-term rentals in the Snowies

Our recent article on the cost of a weekend at the snow had our office (and many of our readers, too) in shock. So we decided to see how much it would cost to stay in the Australian Alps for the duration of winter.

Little did we know that renting a house in Jindabyne, Adaminaby, Berridale or the region from June to September is actually a hugely popular thing to do. And there were more than a few options on our own site.

Here’s what we found.

This one-bedroom retreat in Avonside will cost you $8,000 for the whole winter.

794a Avonside Road, Avonside NSW

That’s a very reasonable price considering a single weekend was around the $4,000 mark. This little flat set in the bush looks like pure peace to us. Available now for a 16-week lease, it features one bedroom, wood fire heating and comes fully furnished.

The home has a combined bathroom and laundry, and the price includes utilities included. You’ll need to leave the fur babies at home though.

Bellevue Loft House offers a blend of country charm and modern rustic simplicity; a cosy retreat with stunning views.
