Our recent article on the cost of a weekend at the snow had our office (and many of our readers, too) in shock. So we decided to see how much it would cost to stay in the Australian Alps for the duration of winter.
Little did we know that renting a house in Jindabyne, Adaminaby, Berridale or the region from June to September is actually a hugely popular thing to do. And there were more than a few options on our own site.
Here’s what we found.
That’s a very reasonable price considering a single weekend was around the $4,000 mark. This little flat set in the bush looks like pure peace to us. Available now for a 16-week lease, it features one bedroom, wood fire heating and comes fully furnished.
The home has a combined bathroom and laundry, and the price includes utilities included. You’ll need to leave the fur babies at home though.
Location, location, location. This cosy home is about a three-minute drive from Jindabyne Emporium and Cafe Darya, and about 27 minutes from Perisher.
Features of the home include open-plan living, a large bedroom with built-in robes, a contemporary bathroom, shared laundry, modern furnishings, and reverse cycle heating.
Simon Porter from Ray White Canberra says buying an investment property in the Alpine region is an “incredible opportunity”, with rental yields over the winter months at an all-time high.
He says the 'Bellevue Loft House' – a unique mountain ski chalet in Adaminaby – is the perfect example of a home that’ll draw renters from right across Australia for the snow season. Bellevue Loft House offers a blend of country charm and modern rustic simplicity; a cosy retreat with stunning views.
With ample space for families and guests, including a spacious loft, it's perfect for both relaxation and adventure. The property is located just over an hour from Thredbo.
This simple three-bedroom, one-bathroom home offers comfort, convenience, and low maintenance living. The open-plan layout means you can design a new lounge/dining/kitchen combination to your liking, while big bedrooms make it easy for lots of people to stay at once.
With a double garage, carport, and spacious backyard, this property could easily be rented to families seeking both space and functionality over the winter months.
