A showcase of opulence and community spirit in Latham

A showcase of opulence and community spirit in Latham

The architects at N1 Creative designed this luxurious six-bedroom home at 92 Macrossan Crescent with three things in mind: luxury, family and outdoor entertainment.

“There’s not really been anything like it in Latham,” says Luton PropertiesNick Paine.

When approaching the property front, you’ll notice a landscape in which few expenses were spared. Leading to the two-car garage is a driveway separated from two front lawns by high-quality stone masonry with embedded feature lighting.

The house’s front wall also has a vibrant but low-maintenance garden bed.

One of the defining characteristics of this home is its ability to bring a practical and family-oriented design to life using luxurious and high-quality interiors.

Nowhere is this more evident than in the kitchen, where a window above the backsplash allows you to keep an eye on the kids in the pool while preparing meals in a Michelin-grade kitchen with an island bench and walk-in pantry.

Inspired by the same philosophy, the downstairs living room balances luxury and practicality. A central feature wall with black wooden panelling and a fireplace is joined to the wall by sleek in-built cabinetry with LED lighting below.

These features make for a space that will take family movie night to a whole new level without compromising the home’s chic and luxurious aesthetic.

The kitchen and living areas are littered with a generous variety of discrete push-to-open storage options hidden in various locations around the space.

This includes what Nick describes as “a bonus hidden compartment in the living area that can be used to hide the clutter of remotes or be kitted out to provide a secret stash for an evening tipple”.

“You literally just press on the painting, and it opens up this compartment for glasses and bottles of gin.”

Take a walk upstairs, and you’ll quickly realise you’re in kid territory. A large rumpus room with north-facing floor-to-ceiling windows is full of natural light. It also features three sliding door cupboards with enough space to hold even the largest collection of toys.

Venture a little further and you’ll find a set of three generous bedrooms, each of which have plenty of storage and large windows of their own.

Back downstairs, you’ll find another three bedrooms, including one master that was created by merging what was once two separate bedrooms. The smaller was used to create an ensuite that connects to a massive walk-in wardrobe with symmetrical two-person cabinetry.

In a final display of opulence, the wardrobe also has a sliding glass door leading to a separate private deck that can be accessed from the kitchen.

The most impressive feature of this property is the backyard, which offers three distinct spaces that allow the owners to entertain and relax outdoors all year round.

The combined meals and family space flows seamlessly outside into a spacious outdoor alfresco. Complete with an outdoor fireplace and stone-top kitchenette with an in-built fridge and barbecue, the space has every bell and whistle imaginable.

As you head to the back of the alfresco, a varnished Merbau staircase will take you up to a large backyard lawn overlooking a fenced-off heated pool with direct access to a bathroom and shower.

The home is situated on the leafy Macrossan Crescent, just across the road from Latham Primary School oval. It’s also a short 6-minute drive from Belconnen.

“One of the things that the owner said to us is that there’s so many families that live in Latham, it’s really community orientated. It’s super unpretentious and the area is just full of families keeping an eye out for each other,” says Nick.

92 Macrossan Crescent Latham goes to auction 1pm on Saturday 9 December 2023.
