The dream kitchens we found deep in Canberra's suburbs

The kitchen splashback we never knew we needed: mermaid tiles [insert love heart eyes emoji].

After a long Thursday in the Zango office we’re flicking through the kitchens we dream of installing in our future homes. Here are our three favourites from deep within suburban Canberra.

Arthouse inspired

One word to describe the incredibly dark heart of this home: loooooove. The wall-mounted knife set just hits harder on a black background, while the mermaid tiles are art deco luxe.

The rest of this two-bedroom apartment on Forbes Street is equally as unexpected and stunning, including custom joinery in almost every room and a black chalk feature wall.

Scandinavian dream

From its structured lines to its simplicity, this kitchen in Yarralumla is as minimalist and elegant as it gets.

We’re loving the calacatta marble and the stunning Zug appliances, but mostly it’s about the thick timber highlight lines for us. Who wouldn’t want to cook Swedish meatballs in this kitchen?

Country luxe

It’s hard not to imagine this enormous kitchen in Red Hill packed with family members and friends at Christmas time (or just for a standard Wednesday night dinner at home really).

Underpinned by a ‘Hamptons meets country’ style, we can’t decide if the windows or the arched bookshelves under the island bench are our favourite detail.
