Just 15 minutes from the city with a lower than average (though steadily rising) median house price, Scullin is an increasingly sought-after suburb for Canberra families and individuals. The Scullin Shops have been reinvigorated and are home to a yoga studio, eateries, and other retailers including one of Canberra’s most loved ‘Another Chance’ Op Shops. Looking for a rural lifestyle that’s still not too far away from town? Check out Burra, which sits south of Queanbeyan on the way to the Snowy Mountains. There are plans to build a local shopping centre, but until then, there are plenty of facilities in the neighbouring suburbs and it’s only four kilometres into the lively Gungahlin Town Centre and light rail network.
