Just 15 minutes from the city with a lower than average (though steadily rising) median house price, Scullin is an increasingly sought-after suburb for Canberra families and individuals. The Scullin Shops have been reinvigorated and are home to a yoga studio, eateries, and other retailers including one of Canberra’s most loved ‘Another Chance’ Op Shops. One of Canberra’s northernmost suburbs, Ngunnawal is a spacious, quiet area that’s popular with professionals and families. The Ngunnawal Shopping Centre has you covered for the basics, or its a quick drive to the shops, cafes, restaurants and bars in Gungahlin or Belconnen. Even the city is only 12 kilometres away.

Taylor already has its own primary school, and the Taylor Adventure Playground is there to keep the kids entertained. There are plans to build a local shopping centre, but until then, there are plenty of facilities in the neighbouring suburbs and it’s only four kilometres into the lively Gungahlin Town Centre and light rail network.

Only 15 minutes from the city, Throsby has a peaceful suburban vibe and plenty of wide, open spaces. Life here means being close to everything you need, but feels like a private sanctuary kitted out with excellent parks and amenities. This newer suburb is still growing, with local shops yet to come, but it’s only a short drive to Gungahlin Town Centre. The area is also well-serviced by schools in the neighbouring suburbs.
