The thing I most love about the house is the feeling of peace and tranquillity inside and out. I feel there is a strong sense of harmony between house and garden. I love the slate floors which warm up quickly in winter with the heater and are cool in the summer. The upstairs area is light and open but most importantly is an independent space. We used it either as bedroom/studio or a home office for my daughters when they got older. In the mornings you can listen to the kookaburras and other birds chatter away in the trees. I especially love to sit in the back area on a sunny winter's day, have a cup of tea and read a book. The sauna is fantastic in winter (when working), the garage had a side room built for a darkroom to be installed so is fitted with taps and fans, but otherwise, it's great for storage. The water is filtered using a retic system throughout the house and garden and in the kitchen there's an extra filter for drinking water. I would also enjoy walking around the suburb along Mirrabei Road to the hills near Moncrieff.
