If you ever ran a lemonade stand as a kid you probably pocketed about 40 cents — and then spent it all on mixed lollies at the corner store.But when Googong’s Anita Di Dio, 3, ran a stall out the front of her family home recently, selling her old soft toys, paint-your-own plaster kits and lucky dips, she took in the grand sum of $180.<img alt="IMG_3652" class="richtext-image full-width" height="591" src="https://d2t3vhau9g43uy.cloudfront.net/media/images/IMG_3652.width-800.jpg" width="800">“She put on the brightest, sparkliest sequin dress she could find and was all about selling her stuff to us,” mum Heidi says.“She was a bit shy, but she loved it. Every time there was a customer, she&#x27;d run back to me and whisper everything she wanted to say to them. It was very cute.”The tiny entrepreneur has her sights set on a trip to Japan, namely Super Nintendo World in Osaka. For Christmas, she asked Santa if he could bring her Mario World and put it under the tree.“We explained that Santa&#x27;s not really in the business of giving international holidays,” Heidi laughs.<img alt="IMG_3648" class="richtext-image full-width" height="1054" src="https://d2t3vhau9g43uy.cloudfront.net/media/images/IMG_3648.width-800.jpg" width="800">“We told her that fun and exciting things come when you work hard and you earn your money.“So she said, well, if Santa can&#x27;t bring it, can I have a job? Can I do something?“We came up with the idea of the paint-your-own plasters because she&#x27;s a very crafty kid and it&#x27;s something she can do mostly on her own.”Anita makes her plaster kits primarily by herself in her backyard at Googong, using silicon and chocolate moulds (mum and dad help with the pouring of the plaster).<img alt="IMG_3651" class="richtext-image full-width" height="1058" src="https://d2t3vhau9g43uy.cloudfront.net/media/images/IMG_3651.width-800.jpg" width="800">She packages them all up with paint and paint brushes, and bows; from the Grinch and princesses to Paw Patrol characters and first name letters.Since that first stall out the front of her house, Anita’s business has grown substantially.She now has kits on sale in the Markets in the Mall shop at Majura Park, with mermaids, dinosaurs and rainbows among the most popular.
