When you’re trying to save for a house, a free $25,000 injection to your deposit is certainly nothing to sneeze at. So if you’re in the market, now is a great time to buy and take advantage of the federal government’s HomeBuilder grant, giving eligible buyers $25,000 towards their new home. But only certain properties are eligible. To qualify for the grant: you must be purchasing a brand new property which will be your primary place of residence, construction on the property must commence between June 4 - December 31, 2020, and the property value can’t exceed $750,000.
Keen to make the most of the grant? Here are some properties in Canberra which fit the criteria and make the cut. And don’t forget - while these properties may be eligible, individuals still need to pass their own eligibility test to secure the grant. Click here to see the full requirements.
