An extravagant property in Conder has sold under the hammer for $1.63 million, smashing Tuggeranong's regional record of $1.4 million and Conder's suburb record of $1.27 million all in one go.

Zango data shows that property was last on the market in 2014 when it sold for $969,000.

An impressive crowd showed up for the auction on Thursday evening to witness the six-bedroom, five-bathroom home at 5 Muskett Place.

Selling agent Zac Morris of One Agency Sandy Morris - Kambah said tensions were high among the four registered bidders.

The successful bidders were a family who bought the house for extended family to live nearby.

"The owners wanted to be close to their extended family and told me from the start that they wanted to buy it," said Mr Morris.

According to Mr Morris, the new owner told him that the buy was "going to be easy".

"It turns out it wasn't as easy as he thought but he got there in the end and is really happy with the result," said Mr Morris.

The new owners will be living a luxurious lifestyle to say the least.

Split across three levels, one is greeted by a grande foyer with a marble staircase and chandelier.

The luxurious features don’t end there – there is also a saltwater swimming pool, separate spa, and cinema.
