On Parade: Last building in Campbell5 development tops out

The fifth and final building in the Campbell5 precinct being developed in the prime inner north suburb has topped out, marking a key milestone for the project.

Developer JWLand said construction on The Parade was due to be completed in the second quarter of 2021 with the first residents expected to move in by mid-year.

The $210 million development bordering Constitution Avenue and Anzac Parade will deliver 242 apartments with a range of 1, 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments, and also includes two rooftop gardens, and shared kitchen and dining facilities.

Following the ancient Scandinavian tradition, a tree was raised to the top of the building to mark the occasion in a ceremony attended by the builder ICON, JWLand and its stakeholders.

JWLand national head of development Michael Prendergast said The Parade would cap the team’s work to build a lasting new urban precinct.

“We are immensely proud of what we have created here in the Campbell5 precinct,” he said.

”The Parade will signify the completion of our journey of realising a thriving new urban precinct that is designed and delivered to stand the test of time.”

Mr Prendergast said The Parade and Campbell5 were more than just buildings.

“The newly created social landscape is one of my favourite aspects of Campbell5,” he said.

The precinct was designed to foster that community feeling which is missing from many modern standalone residential developments.”

Mr Prendergast said the award-winning Hassett Park had enabled the community spirit to grow throughout the area.

The park features a traditional green, children’s play pods and exercise equipment areas, as well as a central grassed swale incorporating water-sensitive urban design principles.

”The Campbell community is regularly utilising the park, which is a testament to the success of the vision we had for the precinct,” he said.

More shops and services were being added to the precinct as well.

”With every passing year, there is more commercial amenity being added within the existing buildings bringing with it a unique and varied offering,” Mr Prendergast said.

He said The Parade had also been designed around indoor-outdoor living to make the most of the leafy surrounds and lifestyle that comes with living in Campbell.

The suburb is only minutes from the CBD, picturesque Lake Burley Griffin and iconic Mount Ainslie.

Apartments can be had from $435,000 for a one-bedroom, followed by two-bedrooms from $540,000 and three-bedrooms from $999,000.

For all buyers, JWLand is offering $10,000 to spend on furniture packages and window dressings.

The Campbell5 Display Gallery is located at 9 Pentland Street at Campbell and is open on Monday and Tuesday 11:00 am – 2:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 12 pm – 6 pm or Sunday 11 am – 3 pm.
