Join us! Love Your Sister’s Samuel Johnson in town this week for truly special event

There’ll be a lot of love in the room at the city Hellenic Club on Wednesday night as more than 100 women gather to support and raise funds for beloved cancer charity Love your Sister.

It will be a night packed with fashion parades, special prizes, live music and champagne as clothing retailer Intimo joins forces with Love Your Sister - the “cancer vanquishment charity” started in 2012 by long-time cancer sufferer and Canberran Constance (Connie) Johnson and her brother Samuel.

Love Your Sister is Australia’s hardest working cancer vanquishing charity, raising more than $15 million for medical research. The event this Wednesday 7 September is part of a national drive by Intimo to raise critical funds for cancer research.

Zango is a proud sponsor of the event and with Samuel Johnson himself to make a guest appearance, the night will be one of a kind.

“I’m really really looking forward to coming to Canberra next week,” Samuel, a Gold Logie award winner, says.

Intimo Canberra manager and event organiser Chrisoula Mamatas says an Intimo fashion parade will be another highlight of the event. The parade will showcase Intimo’s lingerie and fashion ranges and star “regular Canberra women” as models.

To commemorate five years since Connie’s death, Chrisoula has developed the ‘Capsule for Connie’, a $500 capsule that includes five things for you, including garments of your choice from the Intimo collection, a Love Your Sister book written by Connie and Samuel and an Intimo gift. The capsule also includes tickets for special prize draws, and 10 per cent of sale of each capsule will be donated to Love Your Sister.

“Just to have Samuel in the room and to hear from the heart how the Love Your Sister charity’s going and what our support means will be amazing,” Chrisoula says.

“Love Your Sister proudly passes on 100 per cent of every donation received to scientific research - ‘no skimming, no bullshit’ as the website says.”

The $50 ticket to the event includes the Intimo fashion parade, DJ Stav, canapes and a chance to win a lucky door prize. Chrisoula is hoping to raise more than $10,000 on the night.
