A Bonython home has smashed the previous property record, selling ahead of auction for $1,230,000.
The sale of the five bedroom, two bathroom home at 72 Don Dunstan Drive beat the previous sale record in Bonython by $55,000.
The generously proportioned home sits over two levels, and features segregated living areas, an impressive kitchen, a private master suite, separate kids level, plus easy indoor/outdoor flow and mountain views. The home sits in a quiet spot just across the road from green space of Pine Island, and is also close by Stranger Pond, the Bicentennial National Trail, and the offices and amenities of the Tuggeranong Town Centre.
Sales agent Justine Burke from Luton Properties says they were understandably very pleased with the outcome.
“Most of the showings were run by appointment as we still had restrictions in place. So we got the right buyers through who were qualified and ready to buy, and in fact the eventual buyer was the first one through the door,” she says.
“When we first went to market we didn’t set out thinking we would necessarily achieve a record price, however it was a lovely home in a really great position so it’s not surprising it did break the suburb record.”
Justine says the age of the home, combined with the location, made it appealing to buyers.
“It is in a super convenient location, walking distance to the Tuggeranong Town Centre and with nature reserve all around. The home was only seven years old so it was modern and well suited to families with segregated bedrooms, living areas and outdoor entertaining spaces,” she says.
“New Bonython is very popular for buyers who like Tuggeranong as a location but want a new build – there aren’t many opportunities in Tuggeranong to get something built in the past 10 years.”
