Blocks of ‘golden land’ in South Jerrabomberra to go under the hammer this weekend

Eight blocks of residential land in the new development of South Jerrabomberra are going under the hammer this Saturday (9 April).

The blocks range from 372 to 511 sqm and will be auctioned onsite as part of the ‘Great Australian Land Auction’ (GALA).

Aird Property Group owner Daniel Aird says Australian land has always been gold, but “the land in South Jerrabomberra is geographically blessed”.

“This is exactly what the market is after at the moment. The market is just screaming out for more land.”

According to the latest property data from CoreLogic, stand-alone houses are regaining momentum after pausing for breath in February.

The up and coming NSW suburb of South Jerrabomberra will eventually be home to 1500 households, all within 20 minutes of the Canberra city centre, 15 minutes from Woden and Tuggeranong, just eight minutes from Queanbeyan, and even closer to Fyshwick and Hume. The newly opened Environa Drive provides easy access.

“It is a picturesque location surrounded by beautiful green grassy hills and nature trails,” Daniel says.

The layout currently includes schools and shops, with a brand new recreation and leisure centre on the way. There are also plans for a community town park with play equipment, a splash park, a learn-to-ride bike track, an outdoor gym, public art and BBQ facilities.

The actual town centre will be home to a community complex with a number of restaurants and outdoor dining, as well as a new regional sports facility with 23 hectares of playing fields, an aquatic centre and an indoor seated stadium.

To add to the appeal of the area, Daniel says each of the eight blocks of land is a blank piece of paper with no floor plans mandated or builder allocated.

Daniel says the GALA event is attracting healthy interest to match the record demand of recent land releases across the capital region. The eight blocks will be auctioned off at 9 Speargrass Road, Tralee, at 11 am on Saturday, 9 April.
